The singer’s new album, titled Virgin, drops on June 27 and fans are already buzzing for more than just the music
Some Lorde fans believe the singer may have revealed a lot more than expected with the release of her upcoming album. A photo from the vinyl version appears to show a close-up image of a woman’s crotch, and it’s sparking a lot of conversation online.
Artists often get personal in their music, pouring their emotions and experiences into lyrics. But this might be taking things to a whole new level—literally baring it all.
The album, titled Virgin, is officially set to drop tomorrow (June 27). It’s been two years since Lorde’s last album, Solar Power, came out, so this release has been highly anticipated by fans.
Lorde has been building excitement for the album with several Instagram posts and behind-the-scenes clips. After recently hosting a full listening event, she described the night as “one of the best nights of her life.”
So, as you can imagine, anticipation has been sky-high. But some fans got more than they expected when they opened the packaging for the vinyl. It contains an image that has quickly gone viral online.
The photo is very clearly a close-up of a vagina, seen through a pair of sheer plastic pants. There’s no filter, no shadows—it’s just there, part of the album art.

There’s no official word yet on whose body appears in the image. But fans are convinced it’s Lorde, connecting the dots based on the album’s theme and packaging.
In fact, some have even given the image a nickname, calling it the “Lordeussy.”
The bold inclusion left a lot of people surprised, including one fan who shared online: “Lordeussy.”
“Just got the virgin vinyl, I opened it and first thing I saw was Lorde’s hairy ***** hun I wasn’t ready for that jumpscare lmaooo.” another person on Twitter asked, clearly not expecting to see the image on their feed.
The photo also made some fans nervous about getting their copy of the album. One wrote: “Why is Lorde’s beaver all over my timeline.”
Still, not everyone was upset. Some fans have come to Lorde’s defense and praised her for making such a bold artistic choice.
One person shared their thoughts, writing: “My Lorde vinyl is getting delivered to my parent’s house I’m scared.”
Another fan chimed in with support, saying: “A lot of you are being very weird about the lorde vinyl cover… who tf cares if her lordeussy was out. it’s just a body.”
Another added: “I’m sorry but Lorde putting her cooch on vinyl is iconic asf.”
While the photo definitely caught some people off guard, Lorde’s team did include a heads-up.
On the vinyl listing page, there’s a content warning that reads: “12 X-ray picture disc vinyl, high gloss gatefold cover, 8 page full colour booklet, metallic silver printed inner sleeve. Parental advisory: adult images.”
No matter where you land on the debate, there’s no denying one thing—Lorde got everyone talking.
